Dress Code

Ballet

  • Leotard – any color, any style
  • Tights- dance tights, pink or suntan color, footed or convertible style
  • Ballet shoes – pink, split sole
  • Optional items - ballet sweater, ballet skirt, leg warmers
  • Hair in bun

Jazz

  • Form fitting dancewear/activewear such as leotard, tight tank top, spandex shorts or leggings
  • Jazz shoes- black, slip-on (no ties)
  • Optional items- tights (black or suntan, footed or convertible), loose   fitting over-shirt or sweatshirt for warm-ups, leg warmers
  • Hair pulled back – ½ up or full ponytail

Contemporary

  • Form fitting dancewear/activewear such as leotard, tight tank top, spandex shorts or leggings
  • Bare feet or “foot undeez” (half soles)
  • Optional items- tights (black or suntan, footed or convertible), loose fitting over-shirt or sweatshirt for warm-ups, leg warmers
  • Hair pulled back – ½ up or full ponytail

Hip Hop

  • Moveable clothing such as shorts, leggings, yoga pants, dance pants, tanks, t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.
  • No jeans, no skirts, no dresses
  • Black Converse All-Star style sneakers used for indoors-only. No hip-hop or jazz sneakers

Tap

  • Form fitting dancewear/activewear such as leotard, tight tank top, spandex shorts or leggings
  • Tap Shoes
    • < 12 yrs old – 1-strap, tan
    • > 12 yrs old – tie, black
  • Optional items- tights (black or suntan, footed or convertible), loose  fitting over-shirt or sweatshirt for warm-ups, leg warmers
  • Hair pulled back – ½ up or full ponytail

Acrobatics

  • Form-fitting clothing such as leotard, spandex shorts or leggings, spandex top, tight tank
  • No yoga pants or dance pants
  • Bare feet
  • Optional items - looser clothing for warm-ups, such as sweatshirts or sweatpants, footless or convertible tights
  • Hair pulled back in ponytail
